The library has more than 10,000 print and non-print resources and our collection is growing more and more each year! We subscribe to more than 70 print magazines and newspapers and have access to several databases, including Grolier Online, Britannica, Novelist, and World Book Online. We have a growing collection of DVDs and CDs, as well. We want to provide resources that support our Classical curriculum as well as our tempus legendo program. The library has 30 computers with Internet access for student and staff use.

We strive to be information experts, ready to help you find the information and/or book that you want and need!  We want our patrons to be “independent, competent, responsible and confident users of information and technology and [to be] able to apply related strategies for acquiring basic skills and content knowledge, collaborating with others, communicating ideas, solving problems, and pursuing personal interests” (State Department of Education Information and Technology Literacy Framework).

Library Hours:
The library is open from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm each day.  During
the school day, students must have a pass to come to the
library unless they are coming with a class. Lunch passes for same-day use are available before school every day.

Books circulate for a period of two weeks. Lost or damaged books are billed at replacement cost.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION: The Classical library participates in the Box Tops for Education program. Proceeds support library programming and resources, including passes to area attractions (New Britain Museum of American Art, Harriet Beecher Stowe House) See Mrs. Kennedy or Mrs. Richmond to borrow passes. Please bring your boxtops to the library!

VOLUNTEERS Wanted! We welcome parent volunteers, especially for book fairs and specialty programming. Please contact Mrs. Kennedy if you are interested in volunteering.
