The Art Department

The mission of the Art Department of the Classical Magnet School is to provide multiple opportunities for personal expression, creativity and critical thinking within a curriculum rooted in the Paideia philosophy and Classical and contemporary art. Through the use of coached projects, students will create artwork based on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, which are aligned with the National Standards for the Visual Arts.

Empty Bowls 2008 was a great success! Classical students created bowls and fired them in our kiln to help benefit Loaves & Fishes, our local food bank., in recognition of World Hunger Day. The Classical community joined together for a wonderful night of soup in the beautifully handcrafted bowls for a great cause.
