ADMISSION

Admission is open to all students entering grades 6-11 in Hartford and most of the surrounding towns. Students are selected through a lottery system.

Applications will be available in October and must be submitted by FEBRUARY 16, 2009!

We encourage you to attend an Open House for more information before submitting an application.

Classical Magnet is a Hartford Host Magnet School serving students from Hartford and its surrounding towns.

Students will be selected by means of a random lottery system based on the guidelines imposed by the available seats. Applicants who are not selected in the lottery will be placed on a waiting list for future consideration if space should become available.

New assignments must meet the requirements of ethnic and gender balance. Students selected for admission must complete registration materials in their local districts. Students from districts that do not participate in magnet programs are eligible for Classical Magnet because of the Sheff v. O'Neill settlement.
